Learning about the grids on a map and how compasses work
We learned how the grids on a map work and used them to tell exactly where teddy was hiding before having fun with making patterns on the grid. We described which squares to colour in so our friends could make the same patterns.
We also learned how a compass "knows" which way is north and managed to make our own compasses with magnets pins and water.
