On 22 December we took the cash raised from the sponsored walk £292.50 and gave it to Kieran the most gentle greyhound.

The girl who raised the most will be receiving a Well Done badge in the new year in recognition if her hard (and her family's) work.

When planning for our autumn 2023 term, the Brownies decided they wanted their charities badge, towards their Take Action Theme award.

For this, they had to choose the charity for themselves and they demonstrated democracy in action (gaining this year's parliament badge) and chose the Greyhound Trust.

Every Brownie enjoys an adventure so we decided a sponsored walk in the dark with torches, so the challenge was set!

The 30th November came, and by 6 o'clock it was very dark and very cold. The stars were bright and clear and it became obvious our torches and glowsticks were going to be vital.

Our walk took us around the park and back towards the school, a whole mile. On the walk we passed a house lit up for Christmas which put us in a Christmas mood, which we shared at the tops of our voices.

We were pleased to get back to the school for a warm and the hot chocolate that was waiting for us and played energetic games for the rest of the evening.
