Pond Dipping

Brownies explore the natural world April 2023

We are very fortunate to have a nature reserve within walking distance of our unit meeting place, managed by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust: Doxey Marshes. This means there are natural ponds that are accessible for all abilities, so we couldn't resist going out to explore what was living in them.

As we knew we would be close to water, we had a visit the week before from the Canal and River Trust to teach us to be safe around water, for which we say thank you!

The Brownies found and identified lots of the creatures that life and thrive in the ponds, with many saying they would be bringing their families back to explore further than we could in the limited time we had!
