The Many Hats of Beatrix Potter
Beatrix Potter did much more than Peter Rabbit and we tried our hand!
We learned a little about the many passions of Beatrix Potter.
Many know her for her for her children's stories about Peter Rabbit and Tom Kitten but there was much more to this incredible woman.
We learned about her interest in mushrooms by creating accurate drawings of new species for scientific publication. We had a go at herding "sheep" by building pens and getting our marble sheep into them. We "planted" a new forest of trees to celebrate our love of the countryside she helped to preserve, being instrumental in the creation of the National Trust, and of course we came together to write our own group story.
More, we learned that we can have more than one passion and that we can follow any number of them. We have room in our lives for whatever we love.
